Rather than using the dnspython's facilities and defaults to create the
queries, use the isctest.query.create function in all the cases that
don't require special handling to have consistent defaults.
Use a common function to count the number of RRs in any section of the
DNS message. For the ADDITIONAL section, stick with the dnspython
convention of not including OPT and TSIG.
added some helper functions in isctest to reduce code repetition
in dnssec-related tests:
- isctest.check.adflag() - checks that a response contains AD=1
- isctest.check.noadflag() - checks that a response contains AD=0
- isctest.check.rdflag() - checks that a response contains RD=1
- isctest.check.nordflag() - checks that a response contains RD=0
- isctest.check.answer_count_eq() - checks the answer count is correct
- isctest.check.additional_count_eq() - same for authority count
- isctest.check.authority_count_eq() - same for additional count
- isctest.check.same_data() - check that two message have the
same rcode and data
- isctest.check.same_answer() - check that two message have the same
rcode and answer
- isctest.dnssec.msg() - a wrapper for dns.message.make_query() that
creates a query message similar to dig +dnssec:
use_edns=True, want_dnssec=True,
and flags are set to (RD|AD) by default, but
options exist to disable AD or enable CD.
(to generate non-DNSSEC queries, use
message.make_query() directly.)
When loading a primary zone for the first time, if the zonefile
does not exist but an "initial-file" option has been set, then a
new file will be copied into place from the path specified by
"initial-file".
This can be used to simplify the process of adding new zones. For
instance, a template zonefile could be used by running:
$ rndc addzone example.com \
'{ type primary; file "example.db"; initial-file "template.db"; };'
This is the first step of converting the kasp system test to pytest.
Well, perhaps not the first, because earlier the ksr system test was
already converted to pytest and then the `isctest/kasp.py` library
was already introduced. Lots of this code can be reused for the kasp
pytest code.
First of all, 'check_file_contents_equal' is moved out of the ksr test
and into the 'check' library. This feels the most appropriate place
for this function to be reused in other tests. Then, 'keystr_to_keylist'
is moved to the 'kasp' library.
Introduce two new methods that are unused in this point of time, but
we are going to need them for the kasp system test. 'zone_contains'
will be used to check if a signature exists in the zonefile. This way
we can tell whether the signature has been reused or refreshed.
'file_contents_contain' will be used to check if the comment and public
DNSKEY record in the keyfile is correct.
Check for more rcodes and various properties needed in the wildcard
test. Add a `name` module for various dns.name.Name operations (with
`prepend_label` function only now).
Expose `timeout` as a parameter of `query.tcp`/`query.udp`.
Remove conf.sh.in and move the environment variables into isctest/vars
python package. This enabled the removal of an ugly pytest hack which
loaded and parsed these variables from the environment.
Create a utility package for code shared by the python tests. The
utility functions should use reasonable defaults and be split up into
modules according to their functionality.
Ensure assert rewriting is enabled for the modules to get the most
useful output from pytest.
