Make sure the queries and responses are logged at the DEBUG level, which
may provide useful information in case of failing tests.
This doesn't seem to significantly increase the overall artifacts size.
Previously, pytest.log.txt files from all system tests would take around
3 MB, with this change, it's around 8 MB).
In some cases, it's useful to log the sent and received DNS messages.
Add options to enable this on demand. Query is only logged the first
time it's sent, since it doesn't change. If response logging is turned
on, then each response is logged, since it might be different every
time.
When explicitly set to True, the "verify" argument lets dnspython verify
certificates used for the connection. As most certificates in the system
test will inevitably be self-signed, the "verify" argument defaults to
False.
The "verify" argument is present in dnspython since the version 2.5.0.
Enforcing pylint standards and default for our test code seems
counter-productive. Since most of the newly added code are tests or is
test-related, encountering these checks rarely make us refactor the code
in other ways and we just disable these checks individually. Code that
is too complex or convoluted will be pointed out in reviews anyways.
Check for more rcodes and various properties needed in the wildcard
test. Add a `name` module for various dns.name.Name operations (with
`prepend_label` function only now).
Expose `timeout` as a parameter of `query.tcp`/`query.udp`.
Create a utility package for code shared by the python tests. The
utility functions should use reasonable defaults and be split up into
modules according to their functionality.
Ensure assert rewriting is enabled for the modules to get the most
useful output from pytest.
