341b962665 move dns_zonekey_iszonekey() to dns_dnssec module
dns_zonekey_iszonekey() was the only function defined in the
dns_zonekey module, and was only called from one place. it
makes more sense to group this with dns_dnssec functions.

Move the library init and shutdown to executables
Instead of relying on unreliable order of execution of the library
constructors and destructors, move them to individual binaries. The
advantage is that the execution time and order will remain constant and
will not depend on the dynamic load dependency solver.

This requires more work, but that was mitigated by a simple requirement,
any executable using libisc and libdns, must include <isc/lib.h> and
<dns/lib.h> respectively (in this particular order). In turn, these two
headers must not be included from within any library as they contain
inlined functions marked with constructor/destructor attributes.

2f8e0edf3b Split and simplify the use of EDE list implementation
Instead of mixing the dns_resolver and dns_validator units directly with
the EDE code, split-out the dns_ede functionality into own separate
compilation unit and hide the implementation details behind abstraction.

Additionally, the EDE codes are directly copied into the ns_client
buffers by passing the EDE context to dns_resolver_createfetch().

This makes the dns_ede implementation simpler to use, although sligtly
more complicated on the inside.

Remove RBTDB implementation
QPDB is now a default implementation for both cache and zone. Remove
the venerable RBTDB database implementation, so we can fast-track the
changes to the database without having to implement the design changes
to both QPDB and RBTDB and this allows us to be more aggressive when
refactoring the database design.

Remove DNSRPS implementation
DNSRPS was the API for a commercial implementation of Response-Policy
Zones that was supposedly better. However, it was never open-sourced
and has only ever been available from a single vendor. This goes against
the principle that the open-source edition of BIND 9 should contain only
features that are generally available and universal.

This commit removes the DNSRPS implementation from BIND 9. It may be
reinstated in the subscription edition if there's enough interest from
customers, but it would have to be rewritten as a plugin (hook) instead
of hard-wiring it again in so many places.

445722d2bf Add code to store SKR
This added source code stores SKR data. It is loosely based on:
https://www.iana.org/dnssec/archive/files/draft-icann-dnssec-keymgmt-01.txt

A SKR contains a list of signed DNSKEY RRsets. Each change in data
should be stored in a separate bundle. So if the RRSIG is refreshed that
means it is stored in the next bundle. Likewise, if there is a new ZSK
pre-published, it is in the next bundle.

In addition (not mentioned in the draft), each bundle may contain
signed CDS and CDNSKEY RRsets.

Each bundle has an inception time. These will determine when we need
to re-sign or re-key the zone.

091d738c72 Convert all categories and modules into static lists
Remove the complicated mechanism that could be (in theory) used by
external libraries to register new categories and modules with
statically defined lists in <isc/log.h>. This is similar to what we
have done for <isc/result.h> result codes. All the libraries are now
internal to BIND 9, so we don't need to provide a mechanism to register
extra categories and modules.

Move the dst__openssl_toresult to isc_tls unit

Move the crypto library logging functions from the openssl_link unit to

keeping the old dst__openssl_toresult* macros alive.

ab084d8c4f remove qp-zonedb.c and associated code
now that "qpzone" databases are available for use in zones, we no
longer need to retain the zone semantics in the "qp" database.

all zone-specific code has been removed from QPDB, and "configure

some database API methods that are never used with a cache have
been removed from qpdb.c and qp-cachedb.c; these include newversion,
closeversion, subtractrdataset, and nodefullname.

27c862d953 separate generic DB helpers into db_p.h
when the QPDB is implemented, we will need to have both qpdb_p.h and
rbtdb_p.h. in order to prevent name collisions or code duplication,
this commit adds a generic private header file, db_p.h, containing
structures and macros that will be used by both databases.

some functions and structs have been renamed to more specifically refer
to the RBT database, in order to avoid namespace collision with similar
things that will be needed by the QPDB later.

Refactor the core qp-trie code to use liburcu
A `dns_qmpulti_t` no longer needs to know about its loopmgr. We no
longer keep a linked list of `dns_qpmulti_t` that have reclamation
work, and we no longer mark chunks with the phase in which they are to
be reclaimed. Instead, empty chunks are listed in an array in a
`qp_rcu_t`, which is passed to call_rcu().

bd4576b3ce Remove TKEY Mode 2 (Diffie-Hellman)
Completely remove the TKEY Mode 2 (Diffie-Hellman Exchanged Keying) from
BIND 9 (from named, named.conf and all the tools). The TKEY usage is
fringe at best and in all known cases, GSSAPI is being used as it should.

The draft-eastlake-dnsop-rfc2930bis-tkey specifies that:

    4.2 Diffie-Hellman Exchanged Keying (Deprecated)

The use of this mode (#2) is NOT RECOMMENDED for the following two
reasons but the specification is still included in Appendix A in case
an implementation is needed for compatibility with old TKEY
implementations. See Section 4.6 on ECDH Exchanged Keying.

The mixing function used does not meet current cryptographic
standards because it uses MD5 [RFC6151].

RSA keys must be excessively long to achieve levels of security
          required by current standards.

We might optionally implement Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) key
exchange mode 6 if the draft ever reaches the RFC status. Meanwhile the
insecure DH mode needs to be removed.

Implement dns_db node tracing
This implements node reference tracing that passes all the internal
layers from dns_db API (and friends) to increment_reference() and
decrement_reference().

It can be enabled by #defining DNS_DB_NODETRACE in <dns/trace.h> header.

The output then looks like this:

    incr:node:check_address_records:rootns.c:409:0x7f67f5a55a40->references = 1
    decr:node:check_address_records:rootns.c:449:0x7f67f5a55a40->references = 0

    incr:nodelock:check_address_records:rootns.c:409:0x7f67f5a55a40:0x7f68304d7040->references = 1
    decr:nodelock:check_address_records:rootns.c:449:0x7f67f5a55a40:0x7f68304d7040->references = 0

6b9ddbd1ce Add a qp-trie data structure
A qp-trie is a kind of radix tree that is particularly well-suited to
DNS servers. I invented the qp-trie in 2015, based on Dan Bernstein's
crit-bit trees and Phil Bagwell's HAMT. https://dotat.at/prog/qp/

This code incorporates some new ideas that I prototyped using
NLnet Labs NSD in 2020 (optimizations for DNS names as keys)
and 2021 (custom allocator and garbage collector).
https://dotat.at/cgi/git/nsd.git

The BIND version of my qp-trie code has a number of improvements
compared to the prototype developed for NSD.

  * The main omission in the prototype was the very sketchy outline of
how locking might work. Now the locking has been implemented,
using a reader/writer lock and a mutex. However, it is designed to
benefit from liburcu if that is available.

  * The prototype was designed for two-version concurrency, one
version for readers and one for the writer. The new code supports
multiversion concurrency, to provide a basis for BIND's dbversion
machinery, so that updates are not blocked by long-running zone
    transfers.

  * There are now two kinds of transaction that modify the trie: an
`update` aims to support many very small zones without wasting
memory; a `write` avoids unnecessary allocation to help the
performance of many small changes to the cache.

  * There is also a single-threaded interface for situations where
    concurrent access is not necessary.

  * The API makes better use of types to make it more clear which
    operations are permitted when.

  * The lookup table used to convert a DNS name to a qp-trie key is
now initialized by a run-time constructor instead of a programmer
using copy-and-paste. Key conversion is more flexible, so the
qp-trie can be used with keys other than DNS names.

  * There has been much refactoring and re-arranging things to improve
the terminology and order of presentation in the code, and the
internal documentation has been moved from a comment into a file
    of its own.

Some of the required functionality has been stripped out, to be
brought back later after the basics are known to work.

  * Garbage collector performance statistics are missing.

  * Fancy searches are missing, such as longest match and
    nearest match.

  * Iteration is missing.

  * Search for update is missing, for cases where the caller needs to
know if the value object is mutable or not.

330ff06d4a Move irs_resconf into libdns and remove libirs
`libirs` used to be a reference implementation of `getaddrinfo` and
related modern resolver APIs. It was stripped down in BIND 9.18
leaving only the `irs_resconf` module, which parses
`/etc/resolv.conf`. I have kept its include path and namespace prefix,

2c3b2dabe9 Move all the unit tests to /tests/<libname>/
The unit tests are now using a common base, which means that
lib/dns/tests/ code now has to include lib/isc/include/isc/test.h and
link with lib/isc/test.c and lib/ns/tests has to include both libisc and
libdns parts.

Instead of cross-linking code between the directories, move the
/lib/<foo>/test.c to /tests/<foo>.c and /lib/<foo>/include/<foo>test.h
to /tests/include/tests/<foo>.h and create a single libtest.la
convenience library in /tests/.

At the same time, move the /lib/<foo>/tests/ to /tests/<foo>/ (but keep
it symlinked to the old location) and adjust paths accordingly. In few
places, we are now using absolute paths instead of relative paths,
because the directory level has changed. By moving the directories
under the /tests/ directory, the test-related code is kept in a single
place and we can avoid referencing files between libns->libdns->libisc
which is unhealthy because they live in a separate Makefile-space.

In the future, the /bin/tests/ should be merged to /tests/ and symlink
kept, and the /fuzz/ directory moved to /tests/fuzz/.

c605d75ea5 Use -release instead of -version-info for internal library SONAMEs
The BIND 9 libraries are considered to be internal only and hence the
API and ABI changes a lot. Keeping track of the API/ABI changes takes
time and it's a complicated matter as the safest way to make everything
stable would be to bump any library in the dependency chain as in theory
if libns links with libdns, and a binary links with both, and we bump
the libdns SOVERSION, but not the libns SOVERSION, the old libns might
be loaded by binary pulling old libdns together with new libdns loaded
by the binary. The situation gets even more complicated with loading
the plugins that have been compiled with few versions old BIND 9
libraries and then dynamically loaded into the named.

We are picking the safest option possible and usable for internal
libraries - instead of using -version-info that has only a weak link to
BIND 9 version number, we are using -release libtool option that will
embed the corresponding BIND 9 version number into the library name.

That means that instead of libisc.so.1701 (as an example) the library
will now be named libisc-9.17.10.so.
