7c29c61c31 - Make this just be a list of supported systems, and point to the sun systems 
handbook on sunsolve for hardware details.
- Clarify what's "fully" supported, and what's only partially supported or
  not at all supported due to varying support for onboard devices.
- Update with new stuff that should work or has been tested.

1b938d0980 In several instances, adjacent, related release notes were combined. 
A useless entry was removed, as per its comment.

Fixed a number of typos and grammos.

Old (pre-4.6) security advisories were marked as historic.  Hyperlinks
were removed from these release notes to work around a buglet in
footnote numbering for printed output.  These changes eliminated three
pages of only marginally-useful utility.

Clarify a note on procfs(5) mounts.

The games/freebsd-games port now exists, so refer to it when talking
about the removal of the traditional BSD games.

lukemftpd was deactivated, so remove its release note.

Add text on the demise of pkg_version -c.

d4cd548bb1 Update sparc64 installation instructions. Because sysinstall now 
works on sparc64, this document can now use (almost) the same
procedures as i386, et al.  CDROM booting instructions are cut-and-pasted
from the older sparc64/install.sgml file, which is now unlinked from
the document build.

This document is a long ways from perfect, but it's better than shipping
instructions for an installation procedure that doesn't apply anymore.

While here, add some SGML comments to help others navigate the sources.

7593f63c91 Connect the ia64 versions of the release documentation to the RELNOTESng 
build.

This will give ia64 folks the chance to help flesh these out, and
also ensure that (when the time comes) ia64 releases with documentation
won't fall over due to missing RELNOTESng files.

6f3a9df298 Try to make this document reflect reality better: 
o All of the Q&A entries in this section were i386-specific, so make
these conditional on building for that platform.  If
non-i386-platforms need similar Q&A lists, they can add their own to
this file.

o Coalesce the two Q&A sections into one.

o Correct some device names (wd(4) devices have not existed for quite
some time).

o Get rid of a number of obsolete entries (suggested by jhb).

d0e8afbf5a Provide a way to keep out old ("historic") release notes from bloating 
the size of the rendered release notes.  By default, any element with
a role="historic" attribute won't get rendered in the output unless
the INCLUDE_HISTORIC Makefile variable is defined.

963d43d4da Add role="historic" attributes to all release notes that were MFC-ed 
as of 4.6-RELEASE (or earlier).  This commit shouldn't have any immediate
effect, but we'll eventually use some stylesheet magic to remove
the historic release notes from the output stream.  This will have
the effect of making the 5.0-RELEASE release notes contain material
only relevent to -CURRENT *or* recently MFC-ed to 4-STABLE.

The stylesheet fixes will follow later, once I work out a couple more
details.  I wanted to get this commit done now, before anything gets
MFC-ed in the post-4.6 world (so we don't need to go back later and
figure this out).

If a historic release note gets modified, it may very well be
appropriate to remove its historic attribute.

78ebc785c2 Do not use man entities for items that have been removed, because they 
create a link to man.cgi with a manpath for 5-current. Following this
link gives a "Sorry, no data found for `labpc(4)'". Instead, simply
write labpc(4) without any markup (for which pkg_update(1) is prior art)

ef302ca94e The pre-release sweep continues: 
Just update the 'original revision' markers of some files where the last
update of the english version has no impact on the translated version

4bd2a978f6 Restructure the Sparc installation instructions to 
- get rid of the 4th level headings
- seperate the actions required to prepare the installation (getting
  the CD, settings up the various daemons, ...) from the actual
  installation

Translation teams: This patch moves some paragraphs around and changes
a lot of <sectX> headers, but does not contain any content changes in
the strict sense of the word (i.e. I did not rewrite paragraphs yet).
There were no changes to the indentation, either.

be746f1805 Add a new entity for the previous stable release. For the most part, 
the release notes compare 5.0-CURRENT to 4.0-RELEASE, but in at least
one place it is beneficial to mention the last stable release of

kern.msgbuf sysctl and dmesg(8) not SGID, umodem driver, uscanner
driver, fpa(4) works on alpha, arp(8) -s pub/only, TCP_COMPAT_42
removal, bktr(4) update to 2.18, snd module dependencies work,
chown(8) -R does the right thing with symlinks, killall(1) works
correctly with SUID root processes, strnstr(3)/strcasestr(3),
style.perl(7).

Remove some somewhat-lacking-in content release notes:  PCI subsystem
cleanup, netgraph(4) updates.

I don't mind reinstating the latter group of release notes, if there's
something less vague that can be said about them.
